This is the dry, empty marketplace in Turmi

At the river we waded across first to check the depth before driving–only 15 inches or so, but very sandy.

At the Turmi Bible School, Muga (middle of second picture) and Mathewos (right in second picture) serve in leadership and teaching roles. They are also informally training 12-15 illiterate men from the southern nomadic tribes for evangelism and church planting. They bring them in 4x a year for 10 days and also go visit them 4x a year in the field for 2-3 weeks each time.

As we left, the market was full. This cactus is well over 20 feet tall.
